Its all about arches for us at the moment. Here is a taste of some of the gauged brick arches recently completed by Oldstone on an historic building. All of the arches required templates to be created and bricks cut on site. Forming flat or curved arches in a two dimensional plane can be tricky however, it takes a very skilled and experienced bricklayer to complete this work three dimensions to a bowed wall such as shown in our short video (50 secs) here. Just in case you’re wondering, the tube fixings at either end of the bowed wall are Helifix Sockfix anchors used to tie the restored bow wall to the rear facade.
